Established in Havana in 2012, Cuba’s first independent dance company became one of the most sought-after companies worldwide in just a few years. Malpaso and its 11 talented dancers work with the best international choreographers while exploring new and original paths in Cuban culture. This program is a compelling overview, with works by two great choreographic names: Mats Ek (Women with Water) and Aszure Barton (Stillness in Bloom), as well as a work entitled 24 Hours and a Dog by Osnel Delgado, the company’s artistic director. A great discovery that closes this year’s Festival.
“…a pinch-me moment, one of those times when you catch an artistic dawning… Malpaso’s dancers were exceptional.” LA Times, Los Angeles
