Founded in 1970 in North Carolina, Charlotte Ballet presents an ever-evolving repertoire where classical, contemporary, and avant-garde dance engage in dialogue. Renowned for its virtuosity and artistic rigor, the company makes its Saint-Sauveur debut with a program featuring three distinct choreographic voices.
On Three by Nicole Vaughan-Diaz explores shared breath and trust at the heart of collective movement. Solo Echo, a signature work by Crystal Pite, sweeps in like a winter wind, its poetry unfolding through motion, resilience, and the echo of memory, set to Brahms sonatas. Finally, As I Am by Mthuthuzeli November, resident choreographer of Charlotte Ballet, draws on ancestral resonances in a quest for authentic identity.
Three worlds come together for a moving and powerful experience.
“Excitingly sensual, primal and imaginative […] a stellar evening of modern dance.” Art on my Sleeve, Charlotte
