Driven by the enthusiasm generated by this first initiative, the Festival des Arts de Saint-Sauveur, in collaboration with La Danse sur les Routes du Québec (DSR) and its presenting partners — Espace Théâtre (Mont-Laurier), Odyscène (Sainte-Thérèse), Théâtre Gilles-Vigneault (Saint-Jérôme), and Théâtre Le Patriote (Sainte-Agathe-des-Monts) — is proud to present a new program of the 5 Saisons de la danse.

This unique touring initiative continues its mission to showcase contemporary dance across the Laurentians, offering a new series of performances that combine accessibility, artistic excellence, and a diversity of perspectives. True to the spirit of the original initiative, this second program once again invites audiences to experience powerful choreographic moments, brought to life by inspiring artists and unforgettable performances.

Wolf  | Circa
Festival des Arts de Saint-Sauveur
July 31, 2026

Let us celebrate the arrival in Saint-Sauveur of Circa, the dazzling ambassador of Australian contemporary circus. Since 2006, the company has captivated audiences in over 40 countries across all continents with performances that combine aesthetic refinement, modernity, and physical prowess

In an avalanche of jumps, lifts, and intense choreography, Wolf unleashes a raw, animalistic energy on stage. For director Yaron Lifschitz, the wolf embodies our untamed self: anarchic, free, and fierce. Set to Ori Lichtik’s relentless electronic rhythms, 10 formidable performers push the limits of their art.

Torn between wild instincts and raw humanity, they move through chaos to form a tightly bound pack. Join the pack!

ZONDER  |  Ayelen Parolin
Théâtre Gilles-Vigneault | En Scène Diffusion | Saint-Jérôme
November 9, 2026

March 5, 2027

Tout ce qu’il reste is the new creation by Diana León and Paco Ziel, commissioned by the National Arts Centre, Danse Danse, Salle Bourgie, and Domaine Forget de Charlevoix. The choreographers aim to push the boundaries of classical music conventions through an innovative interpretation of a selection of fourteen of Schubert’s lieder (short songs for voice and piano). The result is a 60-minute piece performed by León and Ziel, alongside two rising stars of classical music in Quebec: baritone Olivier Bergeron and pianist Chloé Dumoulin.

León and Ziel draw primarily on Schubert’s ability to express complex emotional nuances within a very short span of time, and hope to create a work that reflects both the intimate and expansive feelings evoked by his music. Listening to these moving compositions in an era of cultural polarization and moral crisis, the two artists pose a fundamental question: What does humanity need right now?

Throughout the piece, the four performers interact through movement, exchanges with the piano, and vocal explorations, freeing classical music and contemporary dance from their respective disciplinary constraints. Some lieder are performed in their original versions, while others are revisited or deconstructed. The piece is designed to be presented in small concert halls or churches.

Swan Lake  | Ballet Jörgen
Espace Théâtre | Muni-Spec | Mont-Laurier
April 4, 2027

On the occasion of the company’s 25th anniversary in 2012, Artistic Director and CEO Bengt Jörgen revisited the dramatic classic Swan Lake, infusing it with a touch of Canadian heritage, often characteristic of his work.

While this production of Swan Lake highlights the extraordinary beauty of the traditional ballet in its purest form, Jörgen reimagined it within the picturesque seaside setting of the Fortress of Louisbourg in Nova Scotia.

The elaborate sets, designed by Camellia Koo, reflect the beauty of this Canadian national historic site and provide a striking backdrop for Robert Doyle’s 17th-century costumes. Drawing on his experience with the Louisbourg restoration project, Doyle was delighted to contribute to this unique interpretation of Swan Lake.

LOOP  | Audrey Gaussiran
Cabaret BMO | Odyscène | Sainte-Thérèse
May 16, 2027

LOOP is a site-specific choreographic work that explores the repetitive spiral of climate discourse and society’s inertia in the face of environmental urgency. Using a hybrid movement language that blends flamenco, contemporary, Latin, urban, and African dance, the piece captures the sensation of going in circles when faced with a crisis that seems unchanging.

The performance immerses teenage and adult audiences in an environment where the dancers’ movements and rhythms, captured in real time, generate sound loops that evolve through active audience participation, enabled by digital programming using artificial intelligence.

The piece aims to engage the audience, helping them move beyond feelings of helplessness or eco-anxiety by involving them directly, and by showing that even in the face of immense challenges, collective action can break this spiral.
