The Orchestre Métropolitain’s annual concert under the Big Top sets the rhythm of our summer season and lingers long in our memories and hearts. Under the baton of charismatic conductor Yannick Nézet-Séguin, the OM invites us to an evening of light and contrast.
The centerpiece of the program, Dvořák’s powerful Symphony No. 9 “From the New World,” pays tribute to the richness of American influences and cultures. Three additional works round out the evening: Grieg’s beloved Peer Gynt Suite No. 1, imbued with Nordic colors; Émilie Mayer’s Overture No. 3; and Rêverie by Guillaume Couture, one of the pioneers of Quebec symphonic music.
A highly anticipated event that promises, once again, to be unforgettable.
“If you’re lucky enough to hear this orchestra, you’ll immediately sense the power of a close-knit community. […] these musicians are not just colleagues, but kindred spirits, perfectly attuned to one another.” Klassiek Centraal, Antwerp
