Étude no 1
Choreographer and dancer: Jason Martin

Étude nᵒ 1 explores cycles of transformation, renewal and reconstruction, questioning the impermanence of the human condition. Through a sensory dialogue between emotions and physical responses, movement unfolds in a search for total and sensitive physical engagement. The body thus becomes a vessel for the intangible.

Since its creation in 2021–2022, the work has been presented more than 55 times in 20 countries, receiving awards at numerous festivals in Spain, Germany, and Bulgaria.

The Next Act
Choreographer: Jake Poloz
Dancers: Jessica Muszynski and Jose Flores

The Next Act is a short duet performed in two acts. The piece grapples with the ways we deal with grief with the help of those around us. Blending contemporary partnering and Western two-step, it explores how loss creates a “before” and “after”, and how we transform the despair of ending into hope for what comes next.

bang bang (excerpt)
Choreographer: Manuel Roque
Dancers : Manuel Roque and Nils Levazeux

Created in 2017, bang bang first established itself on the contemporary scene as a solo work, receiving the Best Choreographic Work Award from the Conseil des arts et des lettres du Québec as well as the Performer Award at the Prix de la Danse de Montréal. In 2024, the desire to pass this score on to a younger performer transformed the piece: it became a version for two dancers, now a shared journey.

bang bang is a challenge. Somewhere between a game of hopscotch and an athletic feat, two performers engage in repeated jumps and rhythmic patterns demanding exceptional concentration and physical commitment. Beneath this precise rigour the mechanics gradually reveal combativeness, endurance, and also the vulnerabilities of the performer as a human being. Here, the discipline of execution meets sweat.

This duet version introduces the idea of going through the ordeal together—combining each performer’s strengths and weaknesses.
