Under the Grand Chapiteau of Saint-Sauveur, music shines brightly every summer. The visit of the Orchestre Métropolitain to the Festival is a well-established tradition that we joyfully uphold. Under the baton of its renowned conductor Yannick Nézet-Séguin, the Orchestra delivers a burst of excellence and passion!
On the program: Mendelssohn’s Symphony No. 4, known as the “Italian,” inspired by the composer’s romantic emotions and landscapes during his travels in Italy—one of his most brilliant achievements. The OM will also perform the dazzling Firebird by Igor Stravinsky, as well as Louise Farrenc’s Overture No. 2 and Augusta Holmès’ interlude L’amour et la nuit.
A major summer event where magic happens, time and again.
“Being able to consistently motivate his charges to give 110% sets this conductor apart from so many others. The resultant synergy has been the key to the Orchestre Métropolitan’s attaining top tier status in the realm of Canadian orchestras.” Bachtrack, Montreal
