YANNICK NÉZET-SÉGUIN STOPS BY ST-SAUVEUR
For its quasi-annual appearance under the Big Top in Saint-Sauveur, the Orchestre Métropolitain will be led by its musical and artistic director and principal conductor Yannick Nézet-Séguin, who has won numerous awards and distinctions around the world, including three Grammy Awards. This concert is a not-to-be-missed opportunity to hear the OM and see Quebec’s most famous maestro conduct.
THE PROGRAM
The enthusiastic lyricism of Samuel Coleridge-Taylor’s Balade for Orchestra in A minor, the passionate storm of Wagner’s Phantom Ship, the grandiose landscapes of Jean Coulthard’s Kalamalka “Lake of Many Colours”, the fiery energy of Dvořák’s Symphony No. 7 and the vibrancy of Marquez’s Danzon.
A magical evening in a pastoral setting, where the notes of the orchestra blend with the songs of the birds and the wind. Pure joy to be savoured on 4 August!
“Over the last 40 years, the ensemble has earned a reputation for excellence, conquering even those audiences that are less familiar with orchestral music.”
