A leading figure in hip-hop dance and artistic director of Bboyizm, choreographer Crazy Smooth brings together a cast from three different generations. Nine b-boys and b-girls take to the stage with bubbling energy. Inspired by their personal stories of resilience, vulnerability, triumphs and defeats, In My Body is an uncompromising exploration of the inevitable consequences of ageing in a discipline that is particularly demanding on the body. Set to an original score by DJ Shash’U, punctuated at times by spoken word, breaking, house and popping are the order of the day.
Defying the limits of the ageing body, the show, winner of four Dora Mavor Moore awards in Toronto in 2022, celebrates the joy of dancing and the strength of the street dance community.
