After a 20-year absence, we are privileged to welcome back a jewel of the local classical scene, Les Violons du Roy. Founded by Bernard Labadie and now under Jonathan Cohen’s musical direction, this ensemble has pursued its vocation since 1984. A cherished mainstay in Quebec City concert halls, the chamber orchestra also does a season in Montreal and is renowned worldwide through tours and recordings. For us, Les Violons du Roy presents a concert entitled Sérénades, featuring works by Mozart, Dvořák, Wolf, Puccini and Tchaikovski under the experienced baton of guest conductor Julien Proulx. An exceptional evening in which this marvellous orchestra will serenade St. Sauveur audiences.
“ The orchestra’s playing […] was something of a revelation.”
