Three women, three Canadian choreographers, three approaches to dance in one night. Hanna Kiel, originally from South Korea and living in Toronto since 2008, presents an excerpt from Resonance, inspired by the unprecedented political scandal in her home country that led to the impeachment of then president Park Geun-Hye in 2016. Gioconda Barbuto, a long-time dancer for the Les Grands Ballets Canadiens and Nederlands Dans Theatre III, a versatile and magnetic soloist, has choreographed some 50 works and brings us an all-new creation. After an impressive career that included work with Les Grands Ballets Canadiens, NDT, Crystal Pite and RUBBERBANDance, Anne Plamondon became a choreographer to watch. She brings us a work for two dancers, Counter Cantor, created with Emma Portner, with whom she shares a passion for movement. An astonishing night of dance with three singular voices.
