An uncontested driving force in the dance world for the past 40 years, Hubbard Street Dance Chicago graces Saint-Sauveur with a visit. A favourite with audiences, the company presents an eclectic repertory of works interpreted by eight outstanding dancers. The dazzling and highly musical Jardí Tancat, a seminal work by Nacho Duato, is inspired by Catalan fairy tales and sung by Maria del Mar Bonet. Lickety-Split, the first work created for Hubbard by resident choreographer Alejandro Cerrudo, is also compelling, as are the three solos in Pacopepepluto, set to songs by the late, great Dean Martin. Lastly, Cloudline by Robyn Mineko Williams closes out a breathtaking evening with boldness and originality.
