Guillaume Côté, the Festival’s Artistic Director, charismatic star dancer and choreographer with The National Ballet of Canada, is collecting projects and praise. This year, he has worked with director Robert Lepage on an ambitious multimedia ballet based on the works of the famous animator and filmmaker Norman McLaren. For FASS in Saint-Sauveur he presents, with other dancers from The National Ballet of Canada, the premiere of a new work that will close the Festival on a high note. The program also includes two works by James Kudelka, the prolific Canadian choreographer: first, his spectacular Summer pas de deux from Vivaldi’s The Four Seasons, a seminal work in the National Ballet’s playbook; this will be followed by another FASS hit, The Man in Black, a moving tribute to legendary country-rocker Johnny Cash.
“Côté was perfect a Prince as one could wish for: manly, handsome, elegant, charming and so obviously in love with Cinderella it touched the heart.” Dancing Times, London
